Westchester Community Health Center (WCHC) formerly known as Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center sees over 41,000 patients and receives nearly 130,000 patient visits annually. Designated a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), WCHC serves adults and children living in low-income neighborhoods across southern Westchester County New York, and northern parts of the Bronx.
WCHC’s mission is to serve patients regardless of their ability to pay, or their immigration status. Most of their patients are Medicaid-eligible or are working poor and medically underserved. For many of them, WCHC is their medical home and is the only place they can reliably turn to, in order to have their health care needs met fully, expertly, and compassionately.
In addition to serving the general population, WCHC also provides medical and related social support programs that focus on the needs of special populations such as the homeless, individuals with HIV/AIDS, expectant mothers, young families, and the elderly.
CDF donated funds towards the purchase of pediatric treatment room equipment in their new WCHC Yonkers walk-in clinic.
CDF gave funds to WCHC to purchase medical equipment for two examining rooms at one of their new school-based health centers in Mount Vernon.
