One of CDF’s earliest initiatives was to help hospitals meet the increased demand for emergency room services for children. Hospital visits can be intimidating and frightening experiences for children. CDF provides grants to hospitals to help build dedicated child-friendly treatment areas, rooms and waiting areas in general emergency rooms or in separate pediatric emergency rooms.
