CDF provides grants to supplement the pediatric equipment available at area hospital emergency rooms. In a medical emergency, having the right equipment accessible at a moment’s notice is critical. Children, being smaller and in some cases anatomically different than adults, require special diagnostic and treatment equipment. Children are also often unable to understand what is happening and frightened, so special emphasis is given to equipment that strives to be as minimally invasive as possible without giving up accuracy and effectiveness.
