CDF is pleased to announce a 2022 grant award to the following organizations:
- St. John’s Riverside Hospital to purchase a pediatric newborn simulator for their Emergency Department and to incorporate into its pediatric core curriculum and staff education.
- New York Medical College to purchase a Laerdal Sim Junior (6-8-year-old child) to provide high-fidelity simulation for medical learners and first-line responders for skills acquisition and mastery as related to pediatric emergency care.
- Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center to purchase one Volara System to provide specialized respiratory care. The new equipment allows them to help children breathe with greater ease and to minimize hospitalizations for respiratory distress.
- Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center to purchase equipment for a new Pediatric Treatment Room. The new equipment will include a Pediatric Exam Table, Vital Signs Monitor w/Oximeter Attachment, a Pulse Oximeter, a Pediatric Scale, and an Infant Scale.
- Phelps Hospital to purchase a Family of Task Trainers which trains staff in lumbar punctures, urinary catheterization, tracheostomy, and intravenous placement as well as funds toward the purchase of a Nursing Kid Pediatric Simulator with trauma modules.
- Montefiore Nyack Hospital to purchase specialized pediatric equipment for their Emergency Department, primarily for infants, including an overhead infant warmer, a neonatal resuscitation airway box, a Broselow resuscitation book, balloon extractors for removal of nasal foreign bodies, nasal atomizers for pain-free administration of medications, and a new digital scale and wall growth chart for accurate measurements.
