CDF Announces 2020 Grants

CDF is pleased to announce our 2020 grant awards to the following organizations:

New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY – CDF funded the purchase of a pediatric family of emergency airway management task trainers. Pediatric airway management is critical to the education of medical students, particularly given the current COVID-19 pandemic.  Pediatric intubation and airway management is a lifesaving, emergency procedure that is performed by a variety of healthcare practitioners.

White Plains Hospital in White Plains, NY – CDF funded the purchase of four Airvo 2 humidifiers used to administer respiratory therapy to patients. In the immediate future, the machines will be used to care for COVID-19 patients and longer-term, for patients in the new Pediatric Center.  Specifically, the Airvo 2 humidifiers improve ventilation and gas exchange, reduces carbon monoxide, and increases oxygenation in children.

Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, NY – CDF funded the purchase of a Premature Anne simulation mannequin. A Premature Anne is a realistically proportioned 25-week preterm mannequin developed in collaboration with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Premature Anne is designed to facilitate the training of healthcare professionals in the implementation of proper care and resuscitation of preterm infants.

Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center in Yonkers, NY – CDF funded the purchase of specialized equipment for adolescents. The equipment facilitates efficient hygiene care routines for individuals who need to remain in a lying position. The equipment maintains the safety of adolescent patients while providing them with a more comfortable environment to maintain personal hygiene.
