CDF’s grant towards specialized equipment for parent training in a simulation setting has allowed parents to gain experience in caring for medically complex children at home. In 2020, Blythedale provided support, guidance, and hands-on training to over 130 parents and caregivers through their parent and caregiver training and education program. By the end of the calendar year, they anticipate providing training to approximately 250 individuals.
Through this program, parents and caregivers have reported increased knowledge of how to care for these children upon receiving hands-on training and additional support and resources. Blythedale is proud of the fact that they are able to discharge 91% of our patients to their homes, families, and communities.
