In the past, children were treated in curtained-off hospital emergency areas along with adult patients. One of CDF’s earliest projects was to help fund separate dedicated treatment areas and rooms for children in hospital emergency rooms.
Special pediatric treatment rooms provide a positive child-centered experience which helps to reduce the stress and anxiety that children commonly experience in an emergency department. In these dedicated treatment areas, specialized pediatric medical equipment is readily accessible and the rooms are often furnished and decorated in a child-friendly manner.

CDF gave a grant to construct and equip a pediatric treatment room in their ER and to help convert an ER area into a pediatric area.

CDF renovated four private rooms into pediatric treatment rooms in Vassar Brother's Emergency Department.

CDF gave a grant to help construct the Pediatric Care Center in their new Emergency Room.

CDF provided funds to help build and equip a pediatric examination room in their Trauma and Emergency Care Center.
