How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in applying for a grant.

CDF has an August 4, 2023 deadline for the submission of new grant proposals. Please be aware that we only consider applications from 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and that no individuals or for-profit corporations may apply.

We welcome grant proposals from non-profit organizations for initiatives that will positively impact the health of children residing in the Hudson Valley, New York. Grants should address our primary areas of funding:

  • Equipment or dedicated facilities that will improve emergency pediatric care
  • Preventative care and/or safety programs that will reduce the need for emergency room and in-office visits
  • Pediatric training programs for medical and emergency personnel

Please visit our Grants page to view past projects that we have funded. Over the past five years, awarded grants have ranged in size from $500 – $25,000.

To Apply

Applicants are required to submit a 2- to 5-page proposal. The proposal should include the following information:

  1. Mission and history of the organization
  2. Contact name, email, and direct phone number
  3. Project description (include photos of requested items, if available and applicable)
  4. Project budget
  5. Provide information detailing how you will support this project for the future (for example: by having a budget or the Staff needed to use the equipment; purchasing insurance or ensuring that have funds to cover repairs if equipment breaks, etc.)
  6. Method to measure the efficacy of the project – include a clear design as to what endpoints you will be using to define success
  7. Timeframe for completion
  8. Financial statement – most recent audited statement

Prior to submission, if you have questions about your proposal, you can reach out by email to info@thecdf.org and a member of the Grants Committee will respond to you directly to discuss the proposed project and budget.

PLEASE NOTE – Encouragement by Grants Committee to submit an application is in NO WAY an approval or promise of the grant being awarded.

Funding decisions are made by CDF’s full Board after careful study and recommendations from the Grants Committee. A study by the Committee may include further discussion with the applicant and possible site visits.

Grants will be awarded on or before September 30, 2023.

At the conclusion of the project, the grantee will be required to submit a report. The report should list how the grant impacted your organization and include photos of the granted item/services in use, if possible.

In addition, the grantee/institution will be required to highlight the grant and CDF in their social media (and to tag the CDF) as well as to send out a press release to local media. We reserve the right to share information and photos that come with your grant report on our social media, website, and print materials.
